NORMATIVE AND EMPIRICAL RESEARCH NETWORK
In developmentA policy research initiative
in development.
We aim to connect the values that guide public choices with evidence about how policies work in practice.
ABOUT NERN
NERN is being developed as a policy research community that brings normative inquiry and empirical research into conversation. We seek to examine policy goals, practical effects, costs, distributional consequences and implementation conditions — while making assumptions and limitations clear.
RESEARCH AGENDA
Projects will be selected as research capacity, access to evidence and review arrangements are established.
Growth, stability and distribution — alongside financing, risk sharing and long-term sustainability.
Policy options for the Korean Peninsula and a changing international order, considered through multiple scenarios.
Demographic change, social risks, access to institutions and the experiences of people affected by policy.
The effects of artificial intelligence and industrial change on competition, work, innovation and public services.
PUBLICATIONS
We are preparing our first publications. Materials will be listed here once they are ready for release.
The planned series are NERN Issue Note, for timely policy questions, and NERN Policy Brief, for comparing policy options, costs and implementation conditions.
